For those of you who have followed my blog right from the start, from way back in 2012, you will know that after a few years of exploring this planet, I serendipitously ended up in Chiang Mai. I have already left and returned to this town more times than I care to remember. In the most part it's been due to visa regulations, BUT, for whatever reason, it's always good to land back here, watching the square shape of the

October and November 2017: Chiang Mai
Hello everyone! After 4 months of travelling around Europe, I'm back in Chiang Mai. The time has flown by and I'm behind on blogging. So, I'm going to cheat a little this time and cover two months together, but I'm keeping it short and sweet. Here's a collection of snapshots from the last few weeks. Be warned, the second picture is a little gruesome! Ol barely escaped with his life after being savaged by a gecko. Actually, it was a

So, April was a month of two halves. Hua Hin and the beach for the first two weeks, and then back to Chiang Mai and city life for the last two. Both have their pros and cons but one thing that Hua Hin doesn't have ......is my friends! First day back in Chiang Mai sees the rains, but it puts some colour back into the place! Some new foods to try.

You may remember, before I confused you with a Laos special, that I ended February in Hua Hin. Well, here I stayed for March. It's a great place to sit out the Chiang Mai smokey season, enjoy fresh air and good living. As the sign says "Let the sea set you free". This month has been filled with getting around on foot and really re-discovering all the joys of the sea shore. Just like childhood rock-pooling in Cornwall! :) I've

This month was one of....road trips 0ngoing and non-stop change and development. Chiang Mai now has a Hard Rock Cafe (which in my opinion is kind of sad) the usual quirks and wonders and a visit from my Dad. The month, and indeed the year, drew to a close with a wonderful trip to Hua Hin HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :)

It's been a busy but quiet time this month. The sober mood struck the city and black became, well, the new black. Colour and music is returning to the daily routines and life goes on as it always has.
