May 2017 (Chiang Mai and London)

May started much like the previous months, but ended with a flurry of social events and DejaLulu business before heading off for a few months in Europe! Another month was beckoned in from our cozy life in Chiang Mai. The rains were just starting which brought the insects and some unexpected flooding!       It didn't stop the gathering of friends, singers or lunchtime buddies                   May also saw the unexpected birth of 'Choc Dee', which

April 2017 (Hua Hin and Chiang Mai)

So, April was a month of two halves. Hua Hin and the beach for the first two weeks, and then back to Chiang Mai and city life for the last two. Both have their pros and cons but one thing that Hua Hin doesn't have ......is my friends!                    First day back in Chiang Mai sees the rains, but it puts some colour back into the place!      Some new foods to try.

March 2017 (Hua Hin)

You may remember, before I confused you with a Laos special, that I ended February in Hua Hin. Well, here I stayed for March. It's a great place to sit out the Chiang Mai smokey season, enjoy fresh air and good living. As the sign says "Let the sea set you free". This month has been filled with getting around on foot and really re-discovering all the joys of the sea shore. Just like childhood rock-pooling in Cornwall! :) I've

February 2017 Special (Vientiane, Laos)

One easy way to apply for a Thai tourist visa, for now anyway, is at the Thai Consulate in Vientiane. And so it was that we ended up in Laos this month. I had been to Laos before in 2013, but that had been in the north near the Chinese border. This trip was to the capital, Vientiane. Laos is a land locked country. A strange elongated strip of land which has borders with Myanmar, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

February 2017 (Chiang Mai, Mae Rim, Vientiane (Laos) and Hua Hin)

February turned out to be a pretty full month! Preparing for and attending the Citylife Garden Fair            A trip to Mae Rim with a stop at the rather naughty Erotic Garden                                                                 Music, birthdays, indigo tie dye, feldenkrais and friends              A trip to Vientiane in Laos (a special update to follow)    And a

December 2016 (Chiang Mai and Hua Hin)

This month was one of....road trips       0ngoing and non-stop change and development. Chiang Mai now has a Hard Rock Cafe (which in my opinion is kind of sad) the usual quirks and wonders        and a visit from my Dad.           The month, and indeed the year, drew to a close with a wonderful trip to Hua Hin             HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :)

November 2016 Special (Penang, Malaysia)

In November we took a whistle stop trip to Penang. A few days staying in Georgetown was enough to understand just what an amazing place it is! The street art .....                               The food....         The architecture....                       And the day to day goings on...               Not to mention our fabulous holiday home...
