May started much like the previous months, but ended with a flurry of social events and DejaLulu business before heading off for a few months in Europe! So, April was a month of two halves. Hua Hin and the beach for the first two weeks, and then back to Chiang Mai and city life for the last two. Both have their pros and cons but one thing that Hua Hin doesn't have ......is my friends! First day back in Chiang Mai sees the rains, but it puts some colour back into the place! One easy way to apply for a Thai tourist visa, for now anyway, is at the Thai Consulate in Vientiane. And so it was that we ended up in Laos this month. I had been to Laos before in 2013, but that had been in the north near the Chinese border. This trip was to the capital, Vientiane. Laos is a land locked country. A strange elongated strip of land which has borders with Myanmar, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

This month was one of....road trips 0ngoing and non-stop change and development. Chiang Mai now has a Hard Rock Cafe (which in my opinion is kind of sad) the usual quirks and wonders and a visit from my Dad. The month, and indeed the year, drew to a close with a wonderful trip to Hua Hin HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :)
